About
Tri-I Outreach Club (TOrC) focuses on STEM outreach initiatives for K-12 and undergraduate students, primarily for underrepresented minorities and students from low-income families. Our mission is to offer mentorship, provide resources, spread awareness about research careers in STEM, and increase accessibility for students who lack resources in their local communities. We aim to inspire the next generation of scientists, curious thinkers, and problem solvers and provide them with the agency to set and achieve their goals.
Graduate students from across the Tri-Institutional community (Weill Cornell Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Rockefeller University) with a shared passion for science outreach have come together to form TOrC. TOrC has partnered with the NYC Department of Education, the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center, Big Red STEM Day, CUNY, and local NYC public schools to host K-12 and undergraduate students on the Tri-I campus for lab tours, science activities, and panel discussions. TOrC also aims to provide one on one mentorship to students interested in STEM careers.
